This painting was inspired by one of my photos of Cape Cod Bay in Brewster, Massachusetts. Sunset was approaching as well as the tide on "The Flats." During low tide, the bay recedes almost 2 miles creating a massive beach comprised of wet sand for all those present. And yes, we were racing the waters back to the edge.
