The Blue Crab or Atlantic Blue Crab is native to both the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. The best time to go crabbing in the Florida Panhandle when I was a youngster was in the warmer months of May to early November. We didn’t go often, but it was always an adventure when we did. Most of my “crab” experiences were sitting at the Destin Crab Trap on a Wednesday night, having a family dinner while watching the sunset.

All in a Jumble was inspired by the microscopic grains of sand that make up the beautiful Emerald Coast Beaches of the Florida panhandle. I love creating works that allow me to play with color and ranges in palette knife strokes. And I loved creating this jumbled mix of shells and items that make up sand as we know it.

Rancho Palos Verdes is now available! This panorama sunset is found along the Sunrise Trail in Rancho Palos Verdes, minutes from my maternal grandparents’ home in Los Angeles, California. The Sunrise Trail on the cliff edge is one of the best locations to watch the sunset. Not only can you see Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean, but looking North, you can see the gorgeous Rancho Palos Verdes Beach and the physical formations of the Portuguese Bend.

Cranbog was years in the making! I created 12 different studies between 2020 and 2022 before creating this larger work. However, I never tried pointillism until I dived in for this one. And yes, all those teeny tiny dots did take hours to create.

One year ago I finished my last two studio classes, submitted my thesis, and walked the stage graduating from the University of Florida’s School of Art and Art History with my masters degree. Hard to believe it has already been that long! It was a long but fulfilling journey that I am glad I completed. Congrats to all my fellow gators who are walking in August. ❤️🎨

At Cape Cod it’s not a question of watching sunset: it’s just which side of the peninsula are you going to be watching from! I love seeing the different colors on the sky and clouds in the reflections on the water. My photo library is more sunsets than I know what to do with.

Pink Dunes was painted in early 2022. At the time, I was playing with monochrome drawings and paintings in grad school. For this painting, which was intended to be a “keep for me painting” I used shades of pink, and layered abstracted forms.
