After living in New York City for so long, living in Massachusetts was a welcome respite. I was far from what I had known to be “rural,” yet within 20 minutes, almost any direction could lead to a city, rolling farmland, or countless green spaces. Laurel Park was a local green space, gifted to the city in the 1870s, that now features a pond, walking trails, and remnants of early-1900s waterworks infrastructure.
