In 2011, my mom and I went on our first mother-daughter trip together. We chose to head to Los Angeles. Though she had grown up there, she hadn’t explored LA as a tourist, which I desired to do. We went to the Getty, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and more. This scene was inspired by our time in the Huntington Gardens in Pasadena, near where my great-grandparents lived.
